The CIHC-ResearchNet is a Research and Evaluation (R&E) sub-committee.

Vision:

The CIHC ResearchNet is a national interprofessional health research network of Canadian health program students, faculty/educators, researchers, clinicians/practitioners, administrators, and organizational leaders engaged in collaborative research and knowledge translation to advance Interprofessional Education and Practice.

On these web pages, we have created an environment for interaction and collaboration on a daily basis among our members.

The CIHC-ResearchNet acts as a developer, supporter, facilitator, knowledge disseminator, knowledge broker and as a resource for information on best practices for interprofessional education and interprofessional practice.

Goals:
  • To build national capacity for and facilitate interprofessional education and practice research
  • To provide a forum for networking, discussion, and research into and about interprofessional education and practice
  • To foster new, and enhance existing, interprofessional collaboration among and between students, faculty/educators, practitioners, and organizations who are conducting and or funding interprofessional research studies
  • To foster the development of IECPCP by providing a vehicle for promoting the research-based evidence for best-practice interprofessional education and practice

Network Development

The CIHC-ResearchNet is in its second phase of development,” Evolving: Network Promotion”. In this phase, we are connecting with other IPE/C networks across Canada and the internationally to promote and collaborate.

As well a planning grant application was submitted to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) in October 2011 entitled, “International Research Network in IPE&P" The application highlights the plan to develop an international virtual interprofessional network. The CIHC ResearchNet also had the honour of presenting its work at Collaborating Across Borders III in Tucson Arizona, November 19-21, 2011

CIHC-ResearchNet currently has more than 60 members from cross Canada, the USA, Britain, and Australia

Please check out our colleagues, The European Interprofessional Practice and Education Network (EIPEN). Additionally, they will be holding a conference in Ljubjana (Slovenia) in September 2013. To learn more click here.
